LUBBOCK, Texas – Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant is proud to once again be recognized as the nation’s top Mexican restaurant chain in a recent survey conducted by the leading national consumer rating magazine (http://www.consumerreports.org/restaurants/great-chain-restaurants). This is the fourth consecutive time since 2006 that Abuelo’s has ranked as the number one Mexican restaurant chain in the report that is released by the national publication.

The results were based on a nearly 70,000 subscribers reporting on 170,838 restaurant visits from mid-2015 to early 2016, rating the best/worst aspects at 238 restaurant chains around the nation.

Abuelo’s ranked highest in the Mexican dining category with a score of 85, based on rankings in food, menu variety, value, service and ambience. Abuelo’s score was the highest ranking given in the casual dining segment and compared favorably to scores given to higher-end restaurant concepts such Houston’s, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, Morton’s and Mitchell’s Fish Market. Abuelo’s was also named as one of “10 Great Dining Picks” in the article.

“At Abuelo’s, our goal is to ensure our guests have an incredible experience when dining with us,” said Robert Lin, president of Food Concepts International, Abuelo’s parent company. “It is truly an honor to once again be ranked as the number one Mexican restaurant chain in the nation by this reputable publication. This is the fourth time in a row we’ve received this top ranking, and we are very thankful to our guests for giving us such high ratings. We also congratulate our operators and team members on achieving this recognition once again.”

About Homes for Our Troops (HFOT)

Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans of post-9/11. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, HFOT has built over 220 homes nationwide.  For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
