New Abuelo’s in The Colony Holds Grand Opening Charity Event

Grand Opening Event, February 8, to Benefit Mended Little Hearts of Dallas

LUBBOCK, Texas – Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant, which recently opened in The Colony at the Village at 121 at 5733 State Highway 121, is hosting a Grand Opening fundraising event on Monday, February 8, to benefit Mended Little Hearts of Dallas. The restaurant will donate 50 percent of all sales, all day, to Mended Little Hearts, a support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease.  

Additionally, The Colony Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the restaurant’s opening.

“We are excited to bring Abuelo’s to The Colony and we look forward to being an active part of this growing community,” said Andy Krage, general manager of The Colony Abuelo’s. “We’re also thrilled to be able to benefit such an outstanding organization as Mended Little Hearts. They do such great work and are an incredible support system for parents of children with heart issues. We hope everyone will come out and help raise funds for their organization.”

The new Abuelo’s features approximately 7,700-square-feet of interior space. It also features a natural light skylight over an interior courtyard and seats approximately 220 guests. The restaurant’s interior is designed as an open-air Mexican courtyard with hand-painted artwork adorning the walls, greenery and traditional statuary throughout.
